This can be a really fun and exciting process because there are so many options, but it can also be a bit overwhelming if you don&#8217;t know where to start \u2026 so let&#8217;s take a look.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>Fiber Content:<br>Whether you&#8217;re looking for rope, cord, string or yarn you will want to decide whether you&#8217;d like to work with a NATURAL or SYNTHETIC fiber.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Natural fibers include cotton, linen, jute, wool &amp; hemp and are ideal for indoor projects, home d\u00e9cor, jewelry, accessories, gift wrap &amp; textiles. They are also biodegradable, therefore making them a good earth-friendly option for crafting.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Synthetic fibers include polypropylene, acrylic, nylon &amp; plastic and are ideal for outdoor projects as they will hold up well rain or shine &amp; not break down over time with the elements.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Size:<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>Macrame Rope comes in such a wide variety of sizes\/diameters, some more suitable for certain projects than others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>Smaller Macrame Rope (Approx diameter) 3mm or less work wonderfully for jewelry, as well as projects that are small or delicate.<\/li><li>Medium Macrame Rope (Approx diameter) 4mm-7mm are most use, a great size for macram\u00e9 beginners and the perfect size for plant hangers, wall hangings, etc.<\/li><li>smaller Macrame Rope and the perfect size for plant hangers, furniture, wall hangings, curtains, rugs, etc.<\/li><li>Large Macrame Rope (Approx diameter) 8mm-12mm (and bigger) make a visual statement and are so fun to work with particularly for wall hangings. They can be a bit more challenging to work with because of their size, but worth the effort.<\/li><li><mark>Our 5mm rope is the most commonly s<\/mark>ize for use. When you untwist the rope it gives a wavy fringe.
