Description
This spirit house model or the Buddha image hall was made from teak wood by skilled artisans in Thailand.
It is a Thai architecture art model, which has a beautiful and unique.
This is a traditional Thai Spirit House hand made from the highest quality golden teak wood. The use of spirit houses in Thailand and throughout
Southeast Asia predates the arrival of Hinduism and Buddhism into the region. Spirit houses are still commonly seen outside houses, offices
and temples throughout Southeast Asia, like in the photo above. These spirit houses are believed to be dwelling places for the spirits of the
deceased, and offerings are placed before them each morning by devout Buddhists, Hindus and Animists. Also, the are often decorated with small
wood or ceramic figure of people, who represent the spirits of the deceased and also elephant figures which are believed to protect the dwelling from
evil spirits. I have included more info about spirit houses below.
